Compromise is no stranger to all of us. It is something we all have done and will continue to do unless we make a quality decision not to compromise our values and Christian beliefs. It is a choice we make to remain a person of integrity or to deny what is right and what we believe. Compromise is a weakening of our character and who we our in Christ. Part of the definition of the word compromise is:
” A weakening as of one’s principles. To weaken or give up ( one’s principles, ideals, etc. ) as for reasons of expediency”.
Since childhood and adulthood we have compromised because it is the easier thing to do. Because of peer pressure and other circumstances in life compromise becomes the easy way out. When we choose to take a stand it requires effort and commitment on our part and we just may take some heat or criticism for it.
There are many ways we compromise in our walk with God and we probably don’t give it much thought or we are not aware of it. That means we have become numb to the sin of the world encroaching into our lives. We compromise in our conversations, the off color joke we partake of knowing we wouldn’t tell that one to the Lord. The music we listen to, does it glorify God or does it oppose or take away from the teaching of the scriptures. What about the TV programs or movies we enjoy that contain profanity, nudity and sexual innuendoes and relationships that defy the word of God. What about the times we are faced with an accusation or situation and it is easier to not stand on the word of God but rather do what the world does. All of these compromises weakens us in our spiritual man and costs us in our relationship with God. The apostle Peter had denied Jesus three times when faced with the pressure of admitting he was a follower of Jesus, but don’t we do the same when we compromise the word of God in our lives and act as if we don’t know that we our contrary to scripture. It costs us our integrity. How can we stand strong in faith when we are full of compromise. Look at what happened to King Saul. Read more…
One of the most interesting parts of life is when you become friends with another person and the connection endures over a long period of time. The most outstanding feature of knowing someone for many years is the fact that you know everything about each other. Pride, egos, and deceptions become a thing of the past. No attempts are made by either party to try and conceal anything, because it is simply impossible to do so. Read more…
There are many hindrances to prayer but one of the most overlooked is demonic / satanic hindrances. Many times people will continue to pray or try to get prayed for over and over and not receive the answer to their prayer. This is also a hindrance to your growing as a Christian. It is also why many churches and ministries never grow or be more than they are.
In the previous article I’ve written, ” Believe and Faith, Two Different Words “, I listed some hindrances to prayer, not all, just some. They were unforgiveness, not praying the will of God, prayers to satisfy your lust, sin and disobedience, strife in marriages, and not understanding the difference between believe and faith.

So you read the Bible, (sometimes) and you are somewhat convinced that God DID send Jesus to Earth to cleanse us of our sins. You’ve been to many churches; some pretty good and some not so good. You are not currently a full member of any church. You also tithe, but not a full 10%, and not on a consistent basis. You enjoy a good discussion about Jesus and the Bible, but also enjoy some worldly entertainment such as pro-football, baseball, soap operas, too much tv, excess shopping, and occasionally buy tickets to some very worldly musical concerts. You go to events like this, but hope that no one sees you attending.
Have you ever wondered why some people receive their prayers answered and some are still waiting ?Why are some people experiencing the reality of God in their lives and His promises ?Why are some people who really believe in God but have been disappointed and accepted the idea that it’s not God’s will to heal them or to meet a particular need in their life ?These questions caused me to seek God for answers many years ago. There are many reasons given in scripture for unanswered prayers, but the one I want to focus on is the words Believe and Faith. Before we continue on believe and faith I would like to name some of the other reasons, because they need to be settled in your life if you are going to get your prayers and needs met by the promises of God.
