2Peter 1: 20-21

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.

For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, then having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

Your personal fate truly rests in your own hands, in your heart, and in your mind. If you have given your heart to Christ, you must pick up your ‘cross’ and bear it for the rest of your life on the earth. There is no looking back. God gives you eternal life at no small cost…you must give up your worldly existence forever. He requires of all true believers to pray, to worship and to follow the Word for the rest of eternity. Followers of Jesus were often alluded to as followers of “The Way”.

Matthew 19: 24

“And again I say to you it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Interesting passage, but easily misunderstood if you have no biblical background. A wise and wonderful wife of a pastor I had the privilege of studying with taught me, that in the days of Jesus, the ‘eye of a needle’ was a reference to a very small exit found in the back of a fort or city. This exit was far too small for a camel to crawl through, but a man could eventually make his escape through this exit. The intended definition of this statement is that technically a rich man could enter heaven, but not without the greatest of struggle! If any of us are caught up with the riches of the world, our fate will probably be a most difficult one.

I have been told that life on earth is about as long as ‘a blink of an eye’ when measured against the length of eternity. This may seem like a long time while living the life on earth, but hold fast and the blessings of God will be your FOREVER! Those who struggle are those who never truly let go of worldly things. I challenge you to take this very night TONIGHT, and pray as you have never prayed before. Open your heart completely and be ready to receive from Christ whatever He has in store for you.

1Peter 2: 9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light!

Even the unsaved people of this world sense a great change is about to take place. Are we so numb that we cannot feel….so blind that we cannot see…so filled with hate that we cannot love? Let this not be so!
